Assistive Kinetics, Powered By Shapemaster

Assistive Kinetics is a range of power assisted exercise equipment designed and manufactured in the UK by Shapemaster,  for people living with limited mobility, older adults and for those managing long term conditions including multiple sclerosis, stroke, fibromyalgia, diabetes and arthritis.

Unlike conventional exercise equipment, the Assistive Kinetics range does not rely exclusively on muscle power but by an electronic power system enabling users to work passively or actively, depending on their ability. Shapemaster equipment provides safe exercise to all the major muscle groups and helps to re-train movement patterns, whilst at the same time stimulating metabolic and circulatory systems.

“The Shapemaster machine we were able to purchase is a high tech piece of equipment that allows for chest expansion which is very good for relieving the challenging physical symptoms of respiratory diseases which many of our patients are living with. There is still a perception that the hospice cares only for those with a cancer diagnosis, but in reality, 40% of the people we provide care to have a non-cancer diagnosis.”

Nicola Silk, Physiotherapist, Douglas Macmillan Hospice

“The difference that Shapemaster equipment has made to the quality of life for our residents is simply outstanding. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shapemaster equipment to other care homes and can honestly say I have never before seen an exercise solution which works so well for people with mobility problems. It is simply life changing.”
