Former BBC Strictly Come Dancing Star, Ian Waite, officially opened the new power assisted exercise suite at Watford Woodside Leisure Centre. The suite which is part of a larger £1.8million refurbishment features 12 pieces of Shapemaster Power Assisted Exercise equipment in addition to a functional fitness workout area.

Paul Saunders, Health and Fitness Motivator, Commented, “People can expect to get a full body workout here at the toning suite, fire up the different muscle groups, and be a part of a great social experience within the structured circuit. The equipment is also suitable for those with neurological conditions and those with limited mobility”.

The centre, run by Everyone Active in conjunction with Watford Borough Council, began its refurbishment in August 2018 and was officially launched at the end of January. Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “It is fantastic that we have been able to work with Everyone Active to deliver these improvements. We’re committed to having first-class facilities but also ones that are affordable and accessible to everyone in our town.”

Watford Woodside is the second of two Shapemaster installations for the ‘Everyone Active’ leisure group, the first being at West Lindsay Leisure Centre in August. David Heathcote, Business Development Manager for Shapemaster, commented: “We are delighted to build on our partnership with Everyone Active.
